• Please ensure you read the leaves policy found on HR for Me as  this details the full maternity policy
  • Inform your manager you are expecting and provide the relevant certificate confirming the date of birth — please provide this to you manager and HR as soon as you receive this from your midwife/doctor.
  • Contact OH / HR and your manager if you require adjustments at work due to your pregnancy
  • Confirm to your manager and HR the date you will commence maternity leave
  • Once the date of your maternity leave is confirmed please action as follows:
  • You should make every attempt to clear all expenses prior to the commencement of your Maternity Leave. Whilst on maternity leave you should not incur any business expenses with the exception of your mobile phone rental.
  • Any other genuine business expense should be alerted to your manager as soon as it is known, so that they can be approved if corporate.
  • Your Company Amex card should not be used for personal expenditure (i.e., personal fuel) whilst on Maternity Leave and will not be authorised by your line manager.
  • Therefore, before you commence your maternity leave, please ensure that you assign a delegate in the expenses system who can process your Vodafone bill.
  • If you wish to access your computer account(s) whilst on maternity leave please raise a ticket with IT to request this. If you do not contact them they will automatically close your accounts. Please note: your account(s) will close if you do not access them within a 90-day period.
  • Please ensure you arrange a meeting, prior to your maternity leave date, with your Manager and update objectives accordingly. Failure to update your goals and appraisals may affect or delay important decisions regarding your final annual review and salary.
  • Important: Please inform your manager of the birth of your baby. Should your baby arrive early (i.e., before your maternity leave date) this will affect your maternity pay and leave dates.
  • Please contact your manager and your intention of the date and proposed hours you plan to return to work. At this time it is advisable to talk about what you would like to do on your return, especially if you are thinking of returning on phased return reduced hours.
  • If employee/colleague decides to resign during her maternity leave, or decides not to return to work at the end of her maternity leave, she should notify her Manager of this decision immediately giving the appropriate amount of written notice required by her contract of employment. The notice period may be reduced if agreed by both parties. Her employment with the Company will end when the notice period expires.
