Full-time colleagues will receive a maximum of 25.5 days holiday in the holiday year, which accumulate at the rate of 2.125 working days for each complete month of service in the holiday year, up to the maximum entitlement. Part-time colleagues’ holiday entitlement will be calculated on a pro-rata basis. In addition, Zoetis Ireland awards additional holiday on the basis of your continuous service which takes effect at the start of the next holiday year as follows:
- On 5 years’ continuous service, a further day, giving an annual total of 26.5 days; and
- On 10 years’ continuous service a further 1 day, giving an annual total of 27.5 days. If you work part-time, additional continuous service days will be awarded to you on a pro-rata basis.
Annual leave days are provided to accommodate a colleague’s need for time off and are intended for use during the year they were accrued. Annual leave entitlement accruals may not be deferred from one year to the next. In exceptional circumstances, colleagues may defer up to 5 days’ annual leave, but these must be used by the end of December of the following year or will be forfeited. No payment will be made in lieu of unused vacation entitlement except in the case of colleagues leaving the Company. It is important that annual leave is requested and approved in advance of your taking it by your Manager.
You are advised to always remember that business conditions and work schedules are determining factors in scheduling and receiving approval for annual leave.

Zoetis encourages volunteering in support of our community value and driven to care corporate social responsibility programme. Up to the equivalent of 2 working days a year can be made available to colleagues to undertake an activity if it is compatible with our business and supports their personal development needs and those of the third-party organisation. These 2 working days will be paid as normal. Examples of the types of projects that are appropriate for volunteering including a bike ride to support a local animal charity, working with blind dogs, supporting third world countries with animal management etc.
To apply for time off to volunteer, colleagues must submit their request in workday under ‘General Leave’ which must be approved by their manager prior to commencing the leave.
Before volunteering, colleagues must also ensure they review the Health & Safety guidelines and perform a Risk Assessment.
Zoetis recognizes that colleagues need to ensure they balance the demands of work with their personal responsibilities, take time off to rest and rejuvenate, as well as time off to attend to other personal matters such as personal or family illness. Therefore, the Company provides eligible colleagues both paid and unpaid time off to help meet their needs.
